Within the Checkout Report, there are few simple configuration options to accomplish this:
- Navigate to Setup>Reports>Reports Setup. Now find the correct Checkout Report (Activity Report) to modify.
- You may have multiple Checkout Reports the staff uses with different names, so ensure you are modifying the correct report.
- On its Reports tab, you'll see options based on what you would like to see on the Report. By default, your POS database may have some of these options checked off for viewing. Some of these options already checked off may include:
- Summary
- Sales and Tax
- Payment Summary
- Gratuities
- Payment Detail
- Open Checks
- Missing Tips
- Paid Outs
- Paid Ins
- Drops
- In order for the Checkout Report to show a "blind drop", with no cash totals seen and only Tips collected, un-check all options on the Report and leave checked:
- Payment Detail
- By choosing Payment Detail only, you are able to see the Tips generated from credit card sales, but not cash totals or summaries of cash taken from the day. This allows the Servers, Bartenders, etc., to drop blindly by turning in their bank amounts minus any tips they earned. You can also add Open Checks and Missing Tips, if needed to be shown on a checkout.
This walk-through can also be used for customers looking to show "only tips" on a Checkout Report.
