There are three interface options for the VX805 EMV Device:
- Serial
- USB
- Ethernet
Serial Configuration
Follow the steps below to set the EMV Device for USB Mode:
- Restart the VX805
- While the VX805 is booting you will see a screen that says

- After this screen the XPI version will be displayed.
- IMMEDIATELY press the ALPHA and 8 keys simultaneously
- A list of interfaces will be displayed
- Select COM1 by pressing the corresponding F key
- You will then prompted to select the serial baud rate. Choose 9600 from the list. 9600 baud rate is the second baud rate listed.
- You will be prompted to select whether the back light is used or not - make a selection
- The device will now load in Serial Communication mode.
USB Configuration
Follow the steps below to set the EMV Device for USB Mode:
- Restart the VX805
- While the VX805 is booting you will see a screen that says

- Select USB by pressing the corresponding F key
- You will be prompted to select whether the back light is used or not - make a selection
- The device will now load in USB Communication mode.
