VX805 Device Configuration

There are three interface options for the VX805 EMV Device:

1. Serial
2. USB
3. Ethernet

Serial Configuration

Follow the steps below to set the EMV Device for USB Mode:

1. Restart the VX805
2. While the VX805 is booting you will see a screen that says

4. Initializing

5. Please Wait...

3. After this screen the XPI version will be displayed.
4. IMMEDIATELY press the ALPHA and 8 keys simultaneously
5. A list of interfaces will be displayed
6. Select COM1 by pressing the corresponding F key
7. You will then prompted to select the serial baud rate. Choose 9600 from the list. 9600 baud rate is the second baud rate listed.
8. You will be prompted to select whether the back light is used or not - make a selection
9. The device will now load in Serial Communication mode.

USB Configuration

Follow the steps below to set the EMV Device for USB Mode:

1. Restart the VX805
2. While the VX805 is booting you will see a screen that says

3. After this screen the XPI version will be displayed.
4. IMMEDIATELY press the ALPHA and 8 keys simultaneously
5. A list of interfaces will be displayed
6. Select USB by pressing the corresponding F key
7. You will be prompted to select whether the back light is used or not - make a selection
8. The device will now load in USB Communication mode.
