Windows 7 is a supported operating system. Below details items to ensure are completed for each Windows 7 installation.

Restrictions
Configure system in accordance with the current Focus POS Systems PCI Implementation Guide and current PA-DSS requirements and best practices.

1. Setup computer name and work group

1. Windows Key + R
2. Sysdm.cpl > Enter
3. Select Change
4. Enter Name
5. Select Workgroup
6. Select OK
7. Select Apply > OK

2. Setup User Name & Password

1. Windows Key + R
2. Compmgmt.msc
3. Select Local Users and Groups
4. Select Users
5. Select Action
6. Select New User
7. Configure User per PCI specifications

3. Setup User Properties

1. Windows Key + R
2. Compmgmt.msc
3. Select Local Users and Groups
4. Select Users
5. Double Click User
6. Configure desired user properties per PCI guidelines

4. Disable Write Caching

1. Right click My Computer
2. Select Properties
3. Select Hardware
4. Select the Disk Drive
5. Select Properties
6. Select Change Settings
7. Uncheck Enable write caching on the device
8. Select OK
9. Select Apply

5. Setup the Network

1. Windows Key + R
2. ncpa.cpl > Enter
3. Right Click Local Area Connection
4. Select Properties
5. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP4)
6. Select Properties
7. Configure
8. IPAddress: Follow Dealership Schema
9. Default Gateway: Follow Dealership Schema
10. Preferred DNS:8.8.8.8
11. Alternate DNS:4.4.4.4

6. Install Creditspeed.zip
7. Install Windows Security Essentials
8. Install Sentinel Key Drivers
9. Install DSI Client
10. Install Fingerprint Drivers
