There are various Hardware License Keys that FOCUS has used over it's 20+ year history.
Parallel License Key Systems installed prior to 2010 and FOCUS Enterprise system installed prior to 2012. Connected to a computer's Parallel port and screwed into place. Note: it is not uncommon for the License Key to be secured to be connected to a parallel port and have a parallel cable plugged into the license key. When this is the case, it is possible for the License Key to come off the station when the cable is removed. If not careful, it's possible for the customer to discard the cable while the License Key is still attached. |

Legacy USB Key Systems installed after 2010 but before 2015 will have a black USB License Key. The license key has a translucent end with a loop hole. When connected, the translucent end will glow green. A black security tie with a manila tag containing information about the License Key will be attached via this loop. Note: the USB License Key does look very similar to a USB Thumb Drive and can easily be mistaken for one. |

Current USB Key Systems installed after 2015 will use a purple USB License Key. This License Key is smaller than the Legacy Black USB License Key. As with the Legacy Black USB License Key, there is a loop at the end of the purple USB License Key. A black security tie with a manila tag containing information about the License Key is also attached to this License Key. Note: the USB License Key does look very similar to a USB Thumb Drive and can easily be mistaken for one. |
