FocusGift offers the ability to accept Gift Card payments, check balances, activate new cards and increment cards.
Accepting Gift Card Payments
When a Focus Gift Card Payment is accepted the amount of the transaction is immediately removed from the card balance. When approved, a message will display with an approval and the remaining balance of the card. If there are not enough funds on the card, the check will remain open for additional means of payment.
Note: If a tip is placed on a gift card voucher, the amount of the tip will not be deducted from the gift card until the tip has been edited. If a customer utilizes the remaining balance of the card before the tip is edited, the tip will not be available to add to the gift card.
Checking Gift Card Balances
A balance can be checked by simply selecting the package "Gift Card Balance" and swiping the gift card or manually entering the gift card number. The customers balance will display and the employee has the option to print a voucher with the current balance for the customer.
Selling New Gift Cards
New cards can be activated by selecting "Sell Gift Card" and swiping a new gift card or manually entering the gift card number. By default Gift Cards can be activated for any amount. Separate packages can be created to activate gift cards for a specified amount. Cards that have previously been activated can not be activated for a second time. In order to add money to a previously activated gift card the user must utilize the "Increment" functionality.
Reloading Gift Cards
Cards that have previously been activated can increment their value by selecting "Reload Gift Card"�and swiping the gift card or manually entering the card number. Cards that have never been activated cannot be incremented. See Activating New Cards.�
