Mapping Items
Menu Item Mapping allows users minimize the number of menu items buttons by allowing users to select a mapping item prior to selecting a master item. The setup process is detailed below.
Restrictions
Menu Mapping utilizes the Menu Item ID and Suggestion Text fields for routing purposes. Users are limited to a total of 80 characters. All Menu ID's should be as short as possible to maximize use.
Menu Item Mapping Example
Setup Process:
Step 1: Create Mapping Items
- Navigate to Menu > Menu Items
- Create first Mapping Item (ExampleShot)
- In the Suggestion Text field enter <MAP>
- Select Save
- Repeat for all Mapping Items
- lExamples = Pint, Pitcher, Small, Medium, Large, Bottle, Double

Step 2: Create All Related Menu Items
Note: Menu Item creation is the same as other items. There is no additional code required for the Menu Items themselves. The only suggestion is to use as few characters as possible for the IF field.
- Navigate to Menu > MenuItems
- Select Add
- Enter Item (Example:ShotJackDaniel's)
- Enter required information and SHORT MENU ID
- Select Save
- Select Add
- Enter Item (Example: JackDaniel's)
- Enter required information and SHORT MENU ID
- Select Save
- Repeat for all Items
Note: Keep the ID's as short as possible, there are only 80 characters available in the 'Suggestion Text' field.
- Shot Jack Daniel's ID = SJD
- Jack Daniel's ID = JD
- Bottle Jack Daniel's ID = BJD
Step 3: Configure Master Item
Note: The 'Master Item' is the item that you will select after you select the size (Example: Jack Daniel's)
- Navigate to Menu > Menu Items
- Create or find the Master Item
- In the 'Suggestion Text Field' enter the following text:
- <MAP!><1>Shot|SJD</1><2>Bottle|BJD</2></MAP!>
- Repeat for all other Master Items
Step 4: Place Mapping Items and Master Items on Canvases
