Create Help Files for Common Processes
Create a Help Desk Canvas to avoid common support calls by utilizing the recipe function in Focus menu items
- Process
- Step 1: Save the Help Desk files in the Images folder on the Focus computer
- The files are available on the Dealer Portal in the Database folder
- Step 2: Import the menu.txt into the Focus database
- Place the menu.txt from the Help Files folder into the Focus folder on the Focus computer
- Navigate to Menu > Menu Items > Tools > Import
- Make sure the file name is C:\Focus\menu.txt
- Select OK
- Step 3: Create a Menu Item Filter for the Help Files
- Go to Find
- In a blank filter enter the name "HelpFile"
- Enter lm in the Sort Field
- Select Save & Find
- Step 4: Create Packages for Each Help File
- Navigate to Order Entry > Packages
- Name Package according to desired Help File
- Command1 = ItemInformation
- Menu Item = Desired Help File
- Type = Recipe
- Step 5: Repeat Step 4 for all desired Help Files
- Step 6: Place Packages on Focus Help Canvas
- Step 1: Save the Help Desk files in the Images folder on the Focus computer
Note: If you don't want to create packages for all the Help Files you can place the Menu Items on a canvas and put the Item Information package on the canvas as well. This will require the customer to select the Item Information and then the respective Help File.
