FocusLink: Connector
Background
The FocusLink Connector is store-level component of the FocusLink stack. It provides a robust, expansive & stable connection between the store-level Focus POS System and the FocusLink Cloud.
FocusLink Connector is a Windows-Service that is always running and always awaiting commands from both the FocusLink Cloud and Focus POS System.
Troubleshooting
The Connector is an incredibly stable piece of software. As the store-level representative of FocusLink, it is in place to maintain solid communication.
However, the Connector relies 100% on a stable internet connection. If the Connector has failed, it's most commonly linked to a hiccup in the store-level internet connection.
FocusLink Connector should be able to handle most common internet outages, however some outages (prolonged outages and very very short blips) can cause untrapped issues to occur.
If the FocusLink Connector is the cause of your problem, simply restarting the Connector service should get you back up an running.
- In Windows, navigate to Control Panel > Admistrative Tools > Services.
- Locate the FocusLink Connector service
- Press the Restart link on the left
- The Connector should start it restart process and be ready to go in a few moments.
