Remote Eyes Setup
Instructions for installing and using POSWatch
Restrictions / Required Modules
POSWatch and DVR (w/POSSvr) can be installed on same machine.
Users will need the following programs:
- Remote Eyes DVR - Requires license key with POS feature
- Remote Eyes text insertion server POSSvr - Will be attached and running under DVR l
- POSWatch - requires 2 license keys (One for POSWatch and one for POSClnt.dll)
- IP Log Module required (1 License per site/not per station)

Important Note:
Make sure the machine time of the Remote Eyes system is consistent with the time of the Focus system or the related video clip will not be found.

How it Works�

Step 1: Focus Setup
Configure Focus for IP Camera (or other device)
Follow the instructions of Focus IP Activity Interface Documentation to setup IP and port number for each Focus POS station that sends trans- action data to POSWatch.
- Launch Focus office software. Select LOCATIONS, then STATIONS. Choose the station and click on DEVICES tab.
- Make sure what is the device you would do IP/Port setup that will communicate with POS Watch
- From Device drop down list of the device (in step2), select IP LOG/CAMERA.
- In the Initialize field of the device (in step2), enter the IP address of POS Watch, in my case, it is 10.0.0.121.
- In the Access field of the device (in step2), enter the listen port number (default:5025) of POS Watch. You may use any number, but it must be the same as the one that POSWatch uses for listening.
Once installed, you will prompt to input the license key for and POSClnt.DLL, please call us or email us for the key, you may provide the machine finger print to us.
- Install and launch Remote Eyes server or WDP with POS feature and start it
- Use Remote Eyes Server from installation CD to install server program.
- Launch server from program start menu. You will be prompted to provide the key, please call us to request the key for POS certificate.
- Setup Remote Eyes server or WDP
- Log on server as administrator (by default: admin, admin).
- Make all channels on which program will overlay text in recording mode.
- Setup Remote Eyes server or WDP
- Install Text Insertion server and POS server Administration program
- Using Remote Eyes Server installation CD to install POSSvr. After installation, POS server should be started automatically.
- Install
- From installation CD to install.
- Work with
- Launch
- On desktop, click on icon
- Enter the license key
- Logon (There are 3 default user accounts)�
Step 3: Create the interface for Focus POS
- Click on "POS" button at the top to add a new interface
- Select New
- Select Focus as the interface type
- Enter a name/description
- Select OK

Step 4: Setup "Listen" Port
- Select "My Setup"
- On the Communication tab, enter the port number used for listening to Focus.
- This Port should correlate with the Port setup in the Focus Setup in Step 1.
- Once complete, the Status should display as "ready" on the main screen.�

Step 5: Text Insertion Server Setup
- In the image above, if�above the BLUE arrow it says "local host connected" your text insertion is complete.
- If not, select Setup and open the "Text Insertion" configuration page.
- IP = ���local host��� if your remote eyes text insertion service is on the machine on which is running.
- Port number = 2995
- Select Connect�
- Open your remote eyes txt insertion service administrator program from Start > AllPrograms > Remote Eyes > POSSvr > Launch POSSvr Admin�
- Select�"Configure Server"
- Select the POS Login tab and check�the username and password settings.
- Select OK.
- Select Connect and re-check the status as displayed�in step 4.�

Step 6: Configure Camera - Device Mapping
- Navigate to Camera Mapping >�My Setup
- Select 'New'
- Enter the Focus POS station number and choose the corresponding cameras.
- Select 'OK' to save your settings�

Step 7: Performing Data Searching and Video Clip Displaying
- Select 'View Transaction'
- in 'Search Transaction Database' dialogue specify the time range ("From" and "To"), specify your search criteria and click button Search.
- From data list, select one entry, and click Display Video to bring up the Player. The player will open the clip for only one channel and stop at the right frame.
- You may need wait a little bit until�the clip recorded on DVR is closed and is ready, the waiting time depends on your settings for the DVR server. If the player gives you the error message about "could not find the matched...", just exit player, wait a while and try again.)
- You may need further setup to bring up the proper player if your DVR is not Remote Eyes DVR.
- If your DVR is Remote Eyes DVR, you could switch from single channel mode to multi-channel mode to display for multiple channels.�
